Character Designer

Worked with First Principles to develop a collection of illustrated coach characters for an employee coaching and accountability app. Each character was designed to embody a distinct coaching style and personality, giving users the ability to choose an approach that best motivates and supports their individual growth. The characters serve as an engaging visual representation of the app’s coaching system, encouraging employees to build and maintain their skills, stay accountable to their goals, and continually improve between formal performance reviews.

Valent health

Character Designer & Art Director

Worked with Valent Health, the Public Health and Forest Health Division of the newly formed Sumitomo Biorational Company (SBC), creating a cast of illustrated superhero characters representing their portfolio of products. These characters were developed to communicate how each product is used through dynamic, engaging, and entertaining storytelling. As Art Director, I guided the visual development and production of animatics, two 3D animated shorts, three 2D static-image animations, two comic books, stickers, and additional supporting materials, helping translate technical product information into accessible and memorable visual narratives.

Character Designer, Scribe/ Illustrator

A client from the consulting world wanted to create an engaging coffee-table book that would give readers, both young and old, an easy-to-understand grasp of complex environmental terms. He provided a short outline and presented it to me, and I took notes and transformed them into these digital sketchnotes (visual scribing). Click below to see samples of this work project.
